Scientific tourism connects research, environmental education, and ecotourism. Through the project Simbora Científico, IMD promotes research expeditions with the participation of people who contribute to funding and assist on the field.
Scientific tourism promotes incredible in touch with nature experiences, making people have a completely different view of the researched animals and the environment. People who have never seen a sea-turtle ou that have had little contact with the sea become advocates to sea animals by going through a transforming experience and by comprehending its importance.
Or by accompaning the researchers doing fieldwork, capturing caimans ou monitoring mammals, it can be a game changer towards young students' professional choice. Motivation apart, our scientific tourism program can provide incredible experiences and contribute to the formation of society more councious to the necessity of harmouniously coexisting with nature.
IMD periodically promotes expeditions to Coroa Vermelha island in Bahia to understand how is the sea-turtles which swim by the region's health. You can also be a part!! Join our team of researchers and become a researcher for a couple of days. You'll never forget this experience!
